Do you have an older life insurance policy that has built up a nice cash reserve over the years? Is the original reason you purchased the life insurance no longer necessary? If so, SOLV would like to visit with you about a potential gift of your life insurance policy. Often you can receive a nice income tax deduction while SOLV receives a nice gift in the process too. Community projects may focus on cleanup, beautification, watershed restoration, landscaping or public space enhancement. Projects must take place in Washington County or East Multnomah County to qualify for Clean & Green Program assistance.

7/12/2008 - SECOND SATURDAY CLEANUP, NORTHWEST PORTLAND INDUSTRIAL AREA, PORTLAND, 9am – 10:30 am: Help keep our streets clean! Join this morning crew as they pick up litter from NW Vaughn to Raleigh, NW 22nd - 26th. Coffee/tea and pastries hosted by Food Front on their front terrace.

7/12/2008 - RETILLING THE SOIL, CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY CHURCH, PORTLAND, 8am – 1pm: Volunteers will meet at three locations to walk the neighborhoods and clean up trash. A celebration will be held at Irving Park following the cleanup.

7/12/2008 - 07/13/2008 - GORGE GAMES COMMUNITY CLEANUP, HOOD RIVER, 9am – 3pm: The Gorge Games Community Clean Up will restore community areas so that they areas are free of debris and safe for athletes and spectators. A volunteer appreciation lunch will be held in August after the event is over.

7/12/2008 - MCKENZIE RIVER - HAYDEN BRIDGE BOAT LANDING TO GOOD PASTURE BRIDGE, SPRINGFIELD, 9am – 1pm: Join the McKenzie River Watershed Council as they lead this annual cleanup of 50 miles of the river!
