Down By The RiversideVolunteer for Down By The Riverside on May 17, 2008!
At this fun volunteer event community members learn about their personal impact on local watersheds, important work is accomplished, and people build stronger bonds with one another.
This year for Down By The Riverside, SOLV is collaborating with OPB and The Nature Conservancy to follow up the spring airing of “The Silent Invasion” on April 22nd, a documentary about invasive species, with volunteer invasive plant projects. SOLV’s annual Down By The Riverside began in 1996 to address community needs after the floods. The event has evolved to meet the needs of all Oregonians to include city wide cleanups, invasive plant pulls, student gardens, cemetery cleanups, and other restoration and beautification projects that enhance the public spaces where we play, learn, reflect and relax.
