Project Oregon

Your Vision. Your Community.

eNRG Kayaking
organizes a cleanup of the Clackamas River. SOLV's Project Oregon helps individuals and groups organize volunteer projects throughout Oregon that share in our mission to build community through volunteer action to preserve this treasure called Oregon. SOLV’s Project Oregon engages volunteers in restoration, cleanup, enhancement and beautification efforts. Projects begin with your vision and take place in your community.

Project Oregon is designed to support projects in four different ways; by providing planning assistance, project materials, site support (small grants) and recognition.

Planning Assistance

Deschutes County
4-Wheelers coordinate the Horse Butte Recreational Area Cleanup. SOLV provides active staff assistance, help with planning, organizing, recruiting volunteers and recognition. We help new projects get started and help existing volunteer efforts become stronger. A comprehensive coordinator's Handook is provided to each coordinator.

Project Materials

SOLV provides free litter bags (large and small), promotional stickers and signage for projects. Latex gloves, safety vests and hazardous waste containers are also available. You must apply for Project Oregon event first, then receive notification that you have been approved before you can apply for project supplies.

Site Support (Grants)

When available, SOLV provides site support (up to $100) for on-the-ground project expenses such as disposal fees, paint and supplies, equipment rental, gloves, safety vests, plants and planting supplies and recycling and trash receptacles. Application cycles occur year-round. You must apply for Project Oregon event first, then receive notification that you have been approved before you can apply for a grant.

Recognition

Volunteers from Tazo Tea
and other local businesses pick up litter in SE Portland. Each year, SOLV gives awards to outstanding Project Oregon efforts which exemplify SOLV’s vision and mission. The winners are recognized in a ceremony at the Capitol Building in Salem. All project coordinators are eligible to nominate their project.
