The Big DayEnthusiastic volunteers will be coming to work on great projects, projects that make a difference in the community. Here are some things you should cover to get off to a good start: The following steps will help ensure a smooth volunteer check-in process on project day.

Making Signs and Maps Help volunteers easily find your site. Create a map of the local area to include in communication with your volunteers. Signs from major intersections to your site(s) are also helpful. SOLV bags with a piece of cardboard inside work well. Use a large black marker to add arrows. Nail them to a post or wooden stake (available at hardware and home improvement stores). Be sure to remove at the end of the day. Stakes with numbered or color coded signs also make good tools for sending volunteers to sub-sites, every one mile along a road, for example. |
